Installing IDImposer

1. Unzip:

Unzip the IDImposer download file (you can just double-click the .zip file on the Mac).

On Windows:

To unzip all the contents of the zipped folder, press and hold (or right-click) the folder, select Extract All, and then follow the instructions.

2. Then:

If you are installing on a Mac, control-click the file “indesign-script-installer-mac.command“, in the MoveIntoScriptsPanel folder, choose “Open” from the context menu, and click ‘ok’ if you get an “unidentified developer” warning alert.

The installer uses the Mac Terminal application, and leaves Terminal open at the conclusion of installation; you will probably want to close Terminal once installer has finished.

I’ll try to do a Windows .cmd version of the installer soon.

Move the whole IDImposer11 folder (in the MoveIntoScriptsPanel folder) into

 Version 12.0\en_US\Scripts\Scripts Panel\

folder on Windows, or into the

~/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/Version 12.0/en_US/Scripts/Scripts Panel/

folder on Mac.

Note: Where it says “Version 12.0”, above, is for InDesign CC 2017.  If you are using a different version of InDesign, use the corresponding numeric version number:

  • Version 12.0 is InDesign CC 2017
  • Version 11.0 is InDesign CC 2015
  • Version 10.0 is InDesign CC 2014
  • Version 9.0 is InDesign CC (2013)
  • Version 8.0 is InDesign CS6
  • Version 7.0 is InDesign CS5

Put the InDesign11Folder wherever you want.  Then add the folder to your Script Bay (see the in-tools link, below) folder list.

Then, to run idimposer
